  1. I’ve heard of re-positioning cruises but never been on one. Good luck with all your resolutions – I’m sure you’ll be having a busy travel year!

  2. I am still debating whether to go on a cruise… I love the idea of seeing many places but don’t like the idea of seeing so little of each place because you get so little time in each place. Then again, everyone I speak to about cruising loved it so I think it’s about time to try one! I love how you make sailing solo a resolution. I can completely see how that makes you meet so many more people and I think I would do the same!

I would say that cruising gives you a taste of a place and then you can decide if you would like to return and spend more time there. By the same token, you might decide that a port is a place that you would not necessarily want or need to spend a few hours in.

  3. Going on a cruise is something I’ve been contemplating for a long time.Seeing the amount of different cruise you have been on is really inspiring. It looks like such a great way to discover tons of new places around the world!Happy new year!

I love cruising too. This year I’m considering an eastern Caribbean cruise from San Juan. Actually there are a couple of cruises I like with different itineraries which would mean I could visit over 10 countries (or territories) in 2 weeks! I took an Antarctica cruise a couple of years back which left from Buenos Aires, your Santiago to Rio cruise will probably visit some of the same ports. You’ll love Ushuaia and Puerto Madryn, it could get a bit rocky around cape horn!

Antarctica is on my list. Color me jealous. Your cruise there must have been amazing! Visiting so many countries in a short time is one advantage of cruising; the best part being that your hotel floats along with you – no driving, flying, riding a bus or, best of all, NO PACKING numerous times.

This is so interesting. Glad I found your blog. I´ve never been on a cruise, but I want to.

This is quite a unique list. I am not much of a cruiser so cannot comment on most of these. But the European river cruise is one of the few I have tried and loved. Hope you get to those.
